Secluded in the Baa Atoll UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in the Maldives, Four Seasons Private Island at Voavah is a dream venue for expanding your horizons and connecting with the surrounding environment. Accessible only by seaplane, absolute privacy is guaranteed in this five-acre powder-sand haven, where a 26-strong team looks after up to 22 guests. At this retreat venue in the Maldives, you're offered seven spacious and gorgeous bedrooms, an open-plan Beach House, an Ocean of Consciousness Spa with award-winning therapists, swimming pools, a dive centre, a water sports centre, a private yacht and access to a team of marine biologists should you so desire.

  • The spacious, double-storey, open-plan Beach House in the middle of the island is the central hub for gathering, playing and connecting. It has a fully-equipped gym, a large dining room, a kitchen and a library.

There are plenty of options for workshops in the Beach House, depending on the space you're looking for. More intimate meetings might take place in the library, while larger groups work well in the dining room.

For bespoke treatments, there's The Ocean of Consciousness Spa, perched over a lagoon.

  • You have the entire island at your disposal. Think meditation workshops by the lagoon, moonlight drumming around the pool and marine biologist-led excursions into the ocean to participate in world-leading conservation projects.

The island has its own herb garden and a walkway of mangrove jungle, and is in the Baa Atoll UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.

  • There are seven luxurious bedrooms split across different villas, accommodating 14 adults and eight children.

A three-bedroomed beach villa, which sleeps six adults and two children, is just steps from the powdery sand and has a massive swimming pool, an al fresco living room and a master suite with ocean views on three sides. Two further bedrooms are housed in their own pavilion.

A two-bedroomed water villa is stilted above the fish-filled lagoon and its living room opens onto an al fresco living deck with a 17-metre pool, loungers and hammocks. The master bedroom, with an attached study/children's room, and a further king-size bedroom pavilion, accommodates four adults and two children.

Two mezzanine suites are at either end of The Beach House's upper floor, and each suite has an outdoor sea-view shower and a panoramic balcony. The bunk room has beds for four children. All rooms have their own gorgeous bathrooms.

  • The central Beach House is the focal point for everyday living away from bedrooms. On the ground floor there's the library, which is home to a television and books.

Next door to the library is the loft lounge which is also sometimes used as a dining room. Guests often find a quiet nook to chill out with a book, or they settle down in the evenings with friends or some good TV.

  • Yoga, meditation and pranayama sessions are available, you can have bespoke treatments with award-winning therapists at the spa, use the services of Rossano Ferretti Hair Salon, and work out in the fully-equipped gym.

Outside, snorkel with manta rays, dive with sharks and swim with turtles, sail into the sunset on your private yacht, or try kitesurfing, X-Jetblades, jet skis and sea bobs. You might also choose to explore the surrounding Biosphere Reserve - above and below the waves - with a team of marine biologists. On-island entertainment can be arranged on request.

  • A team of international chefs is available, together with dedicated Four Seasons staff, to cater to your every need. Just about any style of cuisine can be enjoyed in the privacy of each villa or communally, from low-key buffets to full-throttle theme events with music, dancing and feasting into the night. There's also an option to have beach barbecues, sandbank picnics and sunset cocktail cruises.

All allergies are respected, and vegetarian and vegan options are catered for, along with gluten-free, dairy-free, Halal and Kosher, Ayurvedic, Jain and Satvic.

Seafood aficionados can dine on a different reef fish every day, thanks to a partnership with local Baa Atoll fishermen and their supply of sustainable line-caught snapper, rainbow runner, jackfish, grouper and more.

At the point of booking you’ll have the opportunity to customise your culinary needs for your stay.

  • Located in the Baa Atoll UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, Voavah offers guests access to the Marine Savers and Reefscapers experts who have spent over a decade protecting, navigating and supporting the region, building coral frames, rehabilitating turtles and identifying the world’s largest known manta population. Turtle rescues, coral monitoring dives, coral reef building and turtle nest protection are just a few of the experiences that previous Voavah guests have experienced. Groups interested in marine conservation can get as involved as they wish.

Four Seasons Maldives partner with EarthCheck and the NOW Force for Good Alliance to ensure accountability across all operations. They also support the Thulhaadhoo lacquerware artisans (the Maldives’ last remaining lacquerware craftsmen), traditional bodu beru (big drums) performances, education and health outreach programmes in schools, and poverty-relief programmes for local fishermen and farmers. Voavah guests are able to actively support local artisans and performers throughout their stay, allowing for a deep and respectful cultural connection.
