prices from £3,500 for 3 nights | Capacity 36 guests

Set in 16 acres of secluded grounds in the sleepy hamlet of Rhoslefain in Snowdonia National Park, The Llanfendigaid Estate is a welcoming venue for back-to-nature wellness retreats or a more physical hiking or biking team-building events. The accommodation ranges from the elegant main house to cosy cottages, a stylishly converted cow shed, an holistically-designed pod and a charming shepherd’s hut. Free from background noise and light pollution, you can expect a soul-enriching stay.

  • The main house has two large living areas with plenty of seating, along with smaller rooms that can be used as break-out areas if needed. Furniture can be rearranged to accommodate the number of guests and the requirements of the specific retreat.

Elsewhere on the estate, The Cow Shed has excellent floor space for yoga (up to 18 mats) or other retreat sessions. Light floods through the floor-to-ceiling windows. Tables can be set up for any learning activities.

The Shepherd’s Hut also makes for nuturing one-to-ones or a cosy discussion space, when not being used as overnight accommodation.

  • Ranging from open spaces to more intimate areas, you’ll find the perfect spot for all activities, and seasonal planting will add a wonderful fragrance to all of them.

Secluded nooks and crannies offer an opportunity for solace and enjoy quieter moments, too.

Fire circles can be arranged for group talks or evening storytelling/musical sessions under the stars.

There is the option to put up large yurts on the estate grounds to provide additional covered space for a retreat.

  • There are 18 bedrooms split across six properties, all within easy reach of one another on the estate.

Llanfendigaid House has nine bedrooms accommodating 18 guests. There are four super king bedrooms, one double bedroom, two twin rooms, one triple room, and one single room. The rooms share three bathrooms and four additional WCs.

The Cow Shed sleeps six guests in three bedrooms. There are two super king bedrooms, one with an en-suite, a twin bedroom, and a further bathroom.

Dove Cottage and Stable Cottage both sleep four in two bedrooms - one double and one twin – and each has a shared bathroom.

The Pod and the Shepherd’s Hut sleep two in double beds and have shower rooms.

  • All properties on the estate have welcoming kitchens, dining rooms and lovely sitting areas with cosy wood burners. As well as a heated swimming pool, there is a table tennis barn.

  • As well as yoga, meditation, reading, writing, and arts and crafts, the estate is ideal for wild swimming, forest bathing, mindful walking or wilder hikes – Cader Idris is close by. The area is also known for its cycling pedigree, from road cycling to more mountainous trails.

  • Dine at the long tables in main house or in The Cow Shed, or enjoy a BBQ or open-fire meal in the grounds. Local caterers can create bespoke menus using fresh, seasonal produce that celebrates the best of Welsh ingredients.

  • With B Corp certification a clear goal for the estate (currently B Corp pending), the venue is passionate about the environment. The grounds are cultivated in such a way as to encourage biodiversity and rewilding, while a ground and air source heat pump system keeps the properties and swimming pool toasty. The venue uses local suppliers wherever possible and its owners are firm believers in re-using, restoring and recycling.
